Betty Anne Younker, University of Western Ontario

BETTY ANNE YOUNKER is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Music (Music Education) at The University of Western Ontario. She received her education from Northwestern University (Ph.D.), The Pennsylvania State University (M.Ed. - Music Education), and the University of Prince Edward Island (B.Mus.). In addition to presenting numerous workshops and papers at provincial conferences, Dr. Younker has presented at MENC, CMS, AERA, and CUMS. Publications include articles in provincial documents as well as in the CRME Bulletin and Canadian Music Educator. Teaching experiences, in addition to those at Western, have occurred at the university level in Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Illinois; and in the public school systems in Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. Other experiences have included teaching at music camps during the summer months; adjudicating at various festivals; and performing in orchestral, chamber ensemble, and solo environments.
