About the Journal

Focus and Scope

RLS welcomes submissions from academics, students, and others on topics relating to Newfoundland languages. Articles on non-English language topics in the Newfoundland and Labrador context are also encouraged.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

The journal has been edited by William Kirwin, Robert Hollett, and Graham Shorrocks. In 2005 the Faculty of Arts encouraged the journal to have a more formal basis, and it became officially affiliated with the English Language Research Centre, with the Management Committee appointing an Editor and acting as the Editorial Committee.
