The Complexity of Musical Influences from the Opera Louis Riel: Vocal Challenges and Performance Perspectives

DEAN JOBIN-BEVANS received his musical education at the University of Toronto and at McGill University, where he obtained a master’s degree in choral conducting and is currently finishing his doctoral program in choral conducting with Dr. Julian Wachner. Mr. Jobin-Bevans has sung with the Opera in Concert chorus in Toronto, under the direction of Dr. Robert Cooper, C.M., and the Ensemble vocal de l'Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Charles Dutoit, Artistic Director. As a conductor, Mr. Jobin-Bevans directed the Ensemble vocal Musica Viva from 1995 to 1998, and was Interim Director of Music at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in 2002. He is co-founder and Artistic Director of Voix Libres Founder and Music Director of the McGill Community Choir, and Director of the McGill Conservatory of Music where he coaches and teaches voice. Dean Jobin-Bevans a fait ses études musicales à l’Université de Toronto et à l’Université McGill, où il a obtenu une maîtrise en direction chorale et termine présentement le programme de doctorat, également en direction chorale, avec Julian Wachner. M.
