Author Biography

Angela Warren, University of St. Thomas, Minnesota

ANGELA WARREN completed her B. Mus and B. Mus. Ed. degrees in 1995 at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has recently completed her M.A.M.E. degree with a concentration in Choral Conducting at The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she studied conducting with Angela Broeker. Angela has also completed a certification in Orff Pedagogy at the University of St. Thomas under the direction of Arvida Steen and Jane Frazee. Angela is a full-time voice instructor and choral director at Take Note Music School in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, where she teaches private voice lessons and conducts the youth chorus and coaches smaller vocal ensembles. Angela is also a K-9 classroom music teacher and choir director at Lakecrest Independent School in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Angela has presented workshops for the Newfoundland Registered Music Teachers Association on the Orff pedagogy and its implementation into the curriculum. She has also presented an introduction to Orff Schulwerk for music education students at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
