Author Biography

Ki Adams, Memorial University of Newfoundland

KI ADAMS, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education (Music Education) and School of Music at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In addition to a Master of Music in Organ, he has completed specialist diploma programs in both the Kodály method of music education and the Orff-Schulwerk. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the Associate Conductor and accompanist of the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir and is organist at Gower Street United Church. Since moving to Newfoundland in 1974, Ki has directed the classroom/choral music program in a K-12 school, served as the Provincial Music Consultant in the Department of Education, and held executive positions with provincial and national music organizations, most recently the President of the Kodály Society of Canada. Ki's research interests include teacher identity and professional knowledge, reflective internship practice, and connections between disciplines.
