Dr. Sherif joined the UAE University in August 2001 and is occupying the position of Director of the Academic Personnel Office Since September 2011. He occupied the positions of Professor of Water Resources, and Director of the Water Resources Master Program, College of Engineering, UAE University since 2001. He was also appointed as Chair of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, 2007-2011. Prior to his affiliation to UAE University, he held the positions of Research Scientist, Hydrology Department, Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research, Professor of Hydraulics, Cairo University, Egypt and Visiting Associate Professor, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. He received two Fulbright Scholarships in 1994 and 1997, Khalifa Award for Research, 2008 and was awarded the Water Diplomat recognition, Water Resources Engineer, ASCE, 2011.
