Christopher Smith is an interdisciplinary scholar whose scholarship primarily focuses on addiction/treatment policy, practice, and autonomous user organizing. During the past five years Christopher has worked in Toronto, Melbourne, Philadelphia, and St. John’s, Newfoundland, where he is presently a full-time faculty member at Memorial University. Christopher is the author of Addiction Modernity and the City: A Users’ Guide to Urban Space (Routledge, 2016), which traces the interdependent nature of substance, space, and subjectivity.
