Abstract

The following is a review of Peter Gøtzsche's Deadly Medicines and Organised Crime: How Big Pharma Has Corrupted Healthcare, which focuses on the corruption that exists in the pharmaceutical industries and in the healthcare system. The book recently received first prize in the 2014 British Medical Association (BMA) book awards in the Basis of Medicine category. This review reflects on and critically analyzes the contents and arguments of the book from the perspective of a future social worker.
